Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary celebrated the World Elephant Day on 12th August 2015. In order to spread the awareness of Elephant conservation and its habitat protection, the world elephant day is being observed throughout the world. This time, we have organised many initiatives on this day to make the public aware about the importance of the day such as,

  • Conducted an awareness class to the school children mainly on elephant facts including their habitat related conservation issues and threats against their survival on earth.
  • Quiz competition for school students (LP, UP and HS) particularly on elephant facts.
  • Elephant Conservation Awareness Rally:- 40 students of GBHSS, Manjeri school along with Shendurney forest officials have participated in the rally by raising the placards showing the environment protection slogans and elephant’s habitat protection messages.
  •  Wildlife Warden, Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary addressed the students and inaugurated the function at the Sanctuary
  •  The quiz competition winners were awarded prizes.
