Trekking Packages at Shendurney
Shendurney Ecotourism offers an opportunity to the eco-tourists to explore the unique beauty of wilderness of Shendurney Forests by enjoying a trekking programme. Mainly two types of trekking programmes are available – Soft trekking and Hard trekking.
Soft Trekking
In soft trekking, tourists are allowed to trek for 3-4 hours and offered with light refreshments. One guide and other protection mazdoors will be accompanied the tourists for making this a wonderful experience.
Hard Trekking
In hard trekking, the tourists can enjoy a day long trekking experience including the food and the service of guides, protection staff etc.
Programme description in brief
- Guided, full day hiking programme.
- Time slots: Full day programme, from 8am to 4pm.
- Group size: Each having five people
- Only children of 12 years and above are allowed to participate in the above programme.
- Bookings are confirmed against 100% payment.
- Ticket rates do not include Entrance fees.
- Transportation charge to the starting point will be extra.
- Vegetarian refreshments will be provided during the trek.

Myristica walk
To the “Myristica”-A guided day trek
An interpretative – conservation oriented soft trekking offering an opportunity to watch birds, butterflies and other wildlife. The trail passes through moist deciduous and the semi-evergreen forests with interspersed Myristica swamps. Myristica walk is the right programme to feel nature and hear her whispers. A maximum of 10 persons can go in a slot.
Slots: 7.30am-10am, 10am-12.30pm, 2pm-4.30pm

Sky walk
An authentic “natural” Experience.
This is a conservation oriented soft trekking, offering an opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of Parappar Dam (Thenmala Dam). The trail passes through moist deciduous and semi evergreen forests covering Enippara and Mananthara. Sky walk is a right programme for enjoying the beautiful dam and to feel nature. A maximum of 10 persons can go in a slot.

Reservior Walk
A short walk along the streams
An interpretative and conservation oriented soft trekking programme to feel the whispering sound of the stream and to enjoy the panoramic view of the reservior. The trail passes through the semi-evergreen forests covering Rosemala and Pallivasal. Reservior Walk is a right programme for enjoying the panoramic view of the reservoir.

Wet ‘N’ Wild trial
Exploring the wilderness with nature’s care
A protection-oriented hard trek taking up a full day, starting at 8am and ending at 4pm, covering a total of 18km. The route passes through moist deciduous forest with undulating terrains. Altitudinal variations up to 1000 meters will be covered and trekkers obtain glimpses of the beautiful forest and watershed of the sanctuary. Elephant, Gaurs, Sambars, Leopard etc. are often sighted along this route apart from birds and butterflies. The programme is offered only for one time slot and lasts for eight hours. A maximum of 5 persons can go for trekking at a time along each nature trail. The trekkers will be accompanied by two guides and a forest guard.

Edapalayam mount Hiking
Experience the secrets of “Edapalayam meth”
A protection-oriented hard trek taking up a full day, starting at 8am and ending at 4pm, covering a total of 18km. The route passes through moist deciduous forest and semi-evergreen forest with undulating terrains. Altitudinal variations up to 1200 meters will be covered and trekkers may encounter wide variety of wildlife and an enchanting view of the beautiful Palaruvi waterfall. Gaurs, Sambars, Elephant, etc. are often sighted along this route apart from innumerable birds and butterflies. The programme is offered only for one time slot and lasts for eight hours. A maximum of 5 persons can go for trekking at a time along each nature trail. The trekkers will be accompanied by two guides and a forest guard.

Evergreen trail
Experience the splendor and natural beauty of Shendurney
A conservation and protection-oriented hard trek taking up a full day, starting at 8am and ending at 4pm, covering a total of 18km. The route passes through the semi-evergreen and evergreen forest of the sanctuary and can see the flagship species of the sanctuary, the shendurney tree and Lion-tailed macaque. Altitudinal variations up to 1000 meters will be covered and trekkers may encounter wide variety of wildlife and an enchanting view of the beautiful streams. Gaurs, Sloth bears, Elephants, etc. are often sighted along this route apart from birds and butterflies. The programme is offered only for one time slot and lasts for eight hours. A maximum of 5 persons can go for trekking at a time along each nature trail. The trekkers will be accompanied by two guides and a forest guard.

Lion Tailed Macaque trail
A magical blend of adventure, excitement and wildlife
A conservation and protection-oriented hard trek taking up a full day, starting at 8am and ending at 4pm, covering a total of 18km. The route passes through the semi-evergreen and evergreen forest of the sanctuary and can see the famous “Arogyapacha plants” in a large area in its natural habitat. Altitudinal variations upto 1000 meters will be covered and trekkers may encounter wide variety of wildlife and an enchanting view of the beautiful streams amd small waterfalls. Troups of Lion-tailed macacque is a common seen in this trekking route.Gaurs, Elephant, etc. are often sighted along this route apart from birds and butterflies. The programme is offered only for one time slot and lasts for eight hours. A maximum of 5 persons can go for trekking at a time along each nature trail. The trekkers will be accompanied by two guides and a forest guard.
